- Butter- it is really really good. I indulge I think. I’ve noticed that when you buy a sandwich here, any kind of sandwich, you get buttered bread as well as mayo and/or mustard.
- My new patio set- I love sitting outside at 11 pm (and it is still light outside[summer]) on my stone patio, in one of my four reclining chairs, complete with glass top table and umbrella. I even know who I’m going to give it to when we leave.
- Tesco- I love walking to the grocery store and reusing bags. I had no idea I would like this. It might have to do with the fact that I’m NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO DOES THIS.
- Yogurt- we’ve found new yogurt. It tastes lovelywonderfulyum. Is plain vanilla-y sort of yogurt with a fruit add-in. The cherry tastes like cherry pie and it may be pie filling but WHO CARES?
- Indian food- Is the equivalent to Mexican food back home.
- Child care facilities- they’re like a combination of Waldorf-Steiner and Montessori.
- Care packages from home- OMG.
- Reward Chart
- Anonymous friendly ears
- St. Oswald's Sunshine Club and their field trips
- Skype
- Sisters who stay up until past 5 am watching True Blood
- Being called 'pet' by elderly gentleman when I've given up a seat on the bus so he can sit
- Shaun the Sheep
- Health care- I didn’t pay for my visit to the doctor. No copay, nothing. Then again, he didn’t give me any medical advice that I didn’t already know. By the by, the back is doing much better thanks for asking.
- Double decker buses- Natalie loves them so hard that if we see one, she wants to ride it. Even if it isn’t our bus. TIP: always ride up top in the front but be sure to wear light loose clothing. It gets HOT!
- The gummi bears are awesome! Much better than in US. Sorry.
- Window ice cream- Thornton’s is a chocolate/sweet shoppe (emphasis mine) on Silver St Bridge. They sell ice cream out of the window of the store.
- Open air markets with unique items.
- Billie Jo’s- This pizza is sooooo much like a combination of Hideaway and BJ’s. The first bite put me into a foodie coma. I <3 Billie Joe’s. AND LOOK! It has the same initials as BJ’s!!! Trock on!
- Alex Day- Please look him up on YouTube: Alex Reads Twilight. I ROFLMAO during Chapter 7.
- Cupcakes are not called cupcakes here. They’re called fairycakes. And Christmas tree lights are not called Christmas tree lights. They’re called fairylights.
- Interesting holidays: Bonfire Night, Wearing O' The Purple and White
- Travellers and Gypsies
- Customs like shooting fireworks every night of Halloween week; wearing red poppies and red noses
- Beans and Toast that is slightly buttered.
