I- Ice Cream Window

Thornton's in Durham has a real nice business model: sell crazyass good chocolate and when the weather's nice, sell ice cream out of the large picture window normally reserved for chocolate displays.


Drive thru is pretty much nonexistent in this county. I can only think of one place where there is a drive thru and it's a McDonald's on the north side of the city limits. Come to think of it, I'm not entirely sure it's considered to be in Durham.

Thornton's ice cream is delish! Expensive, compared to the guy with an ice cream cart in the Market Square. His are only £1.00 and Thornton's charges £2.50 for one scoop. But it is definitely worth it.

    Not my sense of humour! Visiting from A-Z from Oz, we have an icecream place called 'Cold Rock' where whatever flavour you like it smashed, and I mean smashed on a rock and mixed with your favourite chocolate, nuts and or candy, scooped up and placed in a waffle cone. Ummm!
